About the weave:
The Pochampally is a traditional Ikat silk saree from the Telangana (previously Andhra Pradesh) region in southern India. These sarees are often handwoven on looms which are often in excess of 100 years old! The Ikat weave of the fabric and the intricate tie and dye process are skills unto themselves, mastered by craftsmen over centuries to create the perfect Pochampally.
