Ikkat is a noteworthy Textile patterning technique that is believed to have its roots in South East Asia and then found to have its way around few parts of the world.
In the Ikkat technique, the yarns are resist-dyed using complex calculations prior to weaving and the 2 step procedure of resist dyeing, and then weaving produces motifs uniquely identified by jagged outlines.
